Sammy Koladich is a Registered Social Worker who completed an Honour’s Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Western University, and a Master’s in Social Work at Dalhousie University. Sammy brings experience from multi-disciplinary health and mental health care teams in community, university settings, school settings, and private practice. Her practice spans working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families facing a wide range of mental health related concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, relational issues, emotion dysregulation, behavioural challenges, self-harm, suicidality, eating disorders, somatization, and issues related to sexuality, sexual orientation, gender, neurodivergence, and disability.

During her Master’s, Sammy interned at Autism Nova Scotia’s Pinwheel Wellness Centre supporting autistic adults with mental health challenges, and at Dalhousie University’s Student Health and Wellness Counselling and Psychological Services as a counsellor for university students. Post-graduation, she has specialized in community mental health, working with youth and families in an Intensive Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) program to support people in developing mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness skills. Sammy has over ten years of experience supporting neurodiverse individuals, and has a breadth of experience working with 2SLGBTQ+ communities as a queer therapist.

Sammy practices from an integrative approach, blending dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, emotion-focused therapy (EFT), and solution-focused techniques. As a certified yoga teacher, she incorporates mindfulness and somatic approaches. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered, strength-based, collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in anti-oppression, feminism, intersectionality, polyvagal theory, and attachment theory. Sammy believes in the expertise of her clients, positioning herself as a collaborative partner in their journey toward meaningful change.
