Dr. Alix Landon, Psy.D. earned a Master of Arts in Psychology and a Doctor of Clinical Psychology at The California School of Professional Psychology (CSPP). During the doctoral program, she also completed specialty training to become a Certifed Chemical Dependency Counselor.
Dr. Landon comes to The Clinic on Dupont from California, where she maintains an active license. She is currently under supervised practice, to meet the requirements set forth by the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).
Dr. Landon was trained in the orientation of cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). CBT explores relationships among a person’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. During psychotherapy, patients can expect to work actively with Dr. Landon to develop healthy, functional thought patterns.
Dr. Landon has a comprehensive approach to psychotherapy that is generated from a vast array of clinical experiences including: mentoring foster care youth, counselling students at a special needs school, conducting psychotherapy and assessments/testing at a psychiatric hospital, providing college students with counselling and sport psychology consultation, and managing her private practice in San Diego, California.
Dr. Landon provides treatment for a broad spectrum of psychological symptomology including but not limited to: anxiety, depression, relationship conflicts, work-related stress, life transitions, alcohol/drug misuse, psychosis, phobias, prenatal/perinatal and post-partum concerns, and sport performance optimization. She is committed to the well-being of all her patients and takes the utmost care and time to develop treatment plans that uniquely suit each individual.
