What to Expect?
Mark’s commitment to his clients is that they can expect to feel deeply respected and understood. While he has clinical expertise, clients are the experts of their own experiences–their self-knowledge, goals, and priorities guide treatment. He sees his work with clients as a collaborative process where together they can clarify what is important to them and help take the steps necessary to get there. Clients can expect to learn skills and strategies which empower them to face their challenges.
Who Does He Treat?
Mark treats clients struggling with anxiety (including anxiety disorders, OCD, social anxiety, generalized anxiety disorder, phobias, panic disorder), depression, low self-esteem, ADHD, perfectionism, stress management, relationship issues, health-related distress (including chronic or terminal illnesses), existential issues, those dealing with life transitions or seeking more meaning, purpose, or direction.
What Does He Do?
Mark strongly values evidence-based treatments—those with a proven track record of successfully helping clients feel better. He has a foundation in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), though rather than rigidly adhering to only one mode of therapy, Mark adapts techniques from multiple approaches to meet the needs of each client. His aim is to treat the whole person—creating a comprehensive and individualized plan to help my clients achieve their goals.
As a psychological researcher, Mark has a strong grounding in the psychological scientific literature and aims to have an ever-deepening understanding of human psychology and wellbeing. He has a keen ability to assess the quality of psychology research and use these skills to stay current with the latest findings on how to help his clients get the most out of therapy.
He is committed to providing the highest-quality therapy he can for each client and looks forward to working with you.
