At The Clinic on Dupont, we assess and treat a wide spectrum of psychological, social, behavioural and educational childhood difficulties using evidence-based treatments and individually-tailored treatment plans.
Every therapeutic engagement begins with a thorough psychological assessment that allows the clinician to understand what your child is struggling with and what treatments will help. Our team of clinicians who specialize in treating children and adolescents work collaboratively with parents, guardians and families, and often with health and educational professionals, to target problems using evidence-based and client-centered solutions. Your child’s clinician will develop a comprehensive treatment plan in alignment with your child’s strengths and exceptionalities to address his or her unique needs. This treatment plan will be integrative and flexible, and may draw on multiple therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioural, interpersonal and creative therapies.
While all of our child and adolescent clinicians treat stress, anxiety, and depression, many also have expertise in helping children cope with other issues including adjustment disorders, attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), early childhood concerns, and family conflict.
Assessing progress periodically and at the end of the therapeutic engagement is how we ensure that your child’s needs are being met. Treatment evaluation is an essential component of all child and adolescent treatment plans at The Clinic. Our focus is on helping young people to overcome obstacles and to learn the coping skills they need to thrive.
